It’s been a while; however, MTV Entertainment Group has rejoined with Nick Cannon. If you’re not aware what cause the separation between the two, last summer Nick interviewed Professor Griff on his podcast & both parties expressed their frustrations about Jewish people. Nick accused Viacom CBS of robbing & underpaying black entertainers. The network decided to part ways with Cannon due to the interview.
Nick Cannon apologized to the network & to Jewish people as a whole for what was said on that particular interview by saying:
“I want to assure my Jewish friends, new and old, that this is only the beginning of my education – I am committed to deeper connections, more profound learning and strengthening the bond between our two cultures today and every day going forward.”
Nick Cannon also took the initiative to educate himself & those around him to educate themselves about Jewish people & what they stand for. Because of this they decided to rejoin him. MTV Entertainment Group gave a statement on the matter:
“Nick has not only apologized and taken responsibility for his comments, but he has also worked to educate himself and others through engagement with Jewish leaders and on his platforms. Those efforts are of the utmost importance and that’s why we have invited him to rejoin our team.”
Unfortunately, Nick tested positive for COVID- 19, so he won’t be able to return right away. Season 5 of Wild ‘N Out will be airing Feb. 11, (Thursday) but Cannon won’t be present for a few episodes. He’s currently in isolation resting, Niecy Nash will be filling in for Cannon until he returns to his original hosting position.
